Should I use different crimps for monofilament line and wire?

Yes! For multi-strand wire use Rosco Mini Double Crimps for most applications and for monofilament lines use Momoi Silver Lock Sleeves. Double crimps can damage monofilament line in the crimping process. Alloy crimps will react with steel wire in saltwater and deteriorate over time. 

Single strand wire is best attached to swivels and hooks with a Haywire Twist rather than a crimp. The best tool for this is the Toit Haywire Twist Tool.
