These rods are specialist tools built in Japan for lure fishing for big and very big pelagic predators. Here in the UK the obvious use for these rods is for fighting medium to large bluefin tuna and sharks.
The tip is soft enough to cast lures up to 200g on the 250lb model and 240g on the 300lb model. Both models are 1+1 handle plus blank sections to ensure maximum strength and fighting power. We haven't found anything else that works as well for this kind of extreme lure fishing.
The extended handle lets you brace properly, using your legs and a straight back to take the strain, rather than relying on your arms and risking poor posture.
Ideal for working surface lures and stickbaits, the rod delivers impressive power while retaining enough flexibility to keep the action lively.
