Big Game Rods

Big game fishing rods can be sorted into two types. These are:-

• Stand-Up rods designed for use with a fighting belt and harness.
• Heavy Trolling rods are used with a fighting chair for large marlin and tuna. Lighter trolling rods used for smaller species will have a shorter butt that can be used with a belt/harness.

Stand-Up big game fishing rods are shorter (6’ or less) to give the angler mechanical advantage over the fish they are fighting. Trolling big game rods are longer and have a softer action to absorb the initial shock of a large fish hitting the lures.
