Nomad Maverick Casting Lure

Nomad Maverick Casting Lure

The Maverick is the flagship design in the Nomad Lure Range. One of the most unique designs for a casting lure you will ever use. The maverick can be worked at least 4 different ways to entice a bite. It is a combination of a popper and floating stick-bait.

These lures are supplied as a body only on the 230mm models - please choose hooks & split rings from our website.

140mm models are rigged with a super strong opposing double and a single inline hook at the rear.

115mm models supplied with 2 x BKK Raptor Trebles.

Call it what you want, the unique action drives fish crazy, and it can be worked in a variety of ways, fast, slow, cast or trolled, the Maverick has a truly unique action not replicated by any other lure. It was originally designed by Damon Olsen to imitate wounded baitfish at very slow speeds on calm days, with the objective of being easy to work.

A combination of rolling and wiggling action and subtle surface splashes combined with the underwater bubble trail was the idea behind the design. Sometimes when it is either very calm or the fish are just lazy and lethargic, you need a lure that just makes the fish eat, and the Maverick is it.

The good news is that after years of testing, it works in all conditions, be it rough or calm water. The “calmwater” version is a floating casting lure, sitting tail down in the water, and is ideal for casting in rough or calm conditions. The “roughwater” version is centre weighted and acts more as a diving stickbait leaving a long bubble trail, and can also be trolled at up to 10kn for mackerel, wahoo and tuna.

The Maverick was also designed to be super easy to use. If you are an experienced angler you will make this lure do things that will get you very excited, but even first time bluewater casting anglers are going to catch fish with this lure just by moving the rod tip. It is a true all-rounder.

GTs, Spanish mackeral, kingfish and tuna find this lure irresistible on the cast.
